Coaching Staff

Richard Moodie
Head Coach

Richard Moodie was named head coach of the Purdue soccer team by Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Bobinski on Novembeer 28, 2023, and will be in his first season with the Boilermakers in 2024.

An innovator in data, sports science and technology, Moodie comes to Purdue from South Alabama and will be the third head coach in the program’s 27-year history. He won seven conference titles at South Alabama – three regular-season and four postseason – and coached his athletes to 19 individual Sun Belt postseason awards and 44 all-conference accolades in addition to being named the conference coach of the year twice, in 2019 and 2023.

Rob Ward
Associate Head Coach

Rob Ward is in his first season with the Purdue soccer program as the associate head coach on head coach Richard Moodie's staff in 2024

Ward joins Purdue after having already spent eight seasons on Moodie’s staffs, including the last seven at South Alabama. Ward is the first member announced to Moodie’s Boilermaker coaching staff.

Adrian Ferreira Cabado
Assistant Coach

Adrian Ferreira Cabado is in his first season with the Purdue soccer program as an assistant coach on head coach Richard Moodie's staff in 2024.

Ferreira Cabado, who will work with the goalkeepers, comes to the Boilermakers from South Alabama, where he worked for Moodie in 2023.

Carson Hamner
Assistant Coach

Carson Hamner is in his first season with the Purdue soccer program as an assistant coach on head coach Richard Moodie's staff in 2024.

Hamner will focus on individual player development and data analysis with Purdue. He comes to West Lafayette from his alma mater, South Alabama, where he was on Moodie’s staff for two seasons in a variety of roles.
